Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to slam their club for signing Romelu Lukaku instead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the Gabon international hit a match-winning double against Tottenham in the north London derby.
The brace takes the former Borussia Dortmund man’s tally to 10 Premier League goals this season, where he now tops the scoring ranks ahead of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.
On the other hand, a player who cost significantly more than Aubameyang in Romelu Lukaku has spent more time falling over his own touch this season than finding the back of the net, and Red Devils’ supporters aren’t happy that their club signed the Belgian instead.
United’s faltering £75m striker has scored just five goals this season, although his goal against lowly Southampton did help take the club a point clear of Leicester into seventh.
